Our Mission: To illuminate lives using the power and inspiration of Art and Culture, driving economic vitality through advocacy, collaboration, education and outreach.

As your Cultural Council, we:

  • provide avenues for nonprofit and artist networking, information-sharing, and collaboration;
  • provide technical assistance and professional development on nonprofit management issues;
  • encourage cooperation amongst nonprofit organizations to maximize resources and minimize competition;
  • promote local artists through our registry of member artists in the visual, performing, and literary arts
  • facilitate public art exhibitions in county buildings;
  • promote member artists and organizations and their events on our website, in the weekly Cultural Connection and the Arts & Cultural Calendar and other print media, our Monday morning e-mail newsletter, and on the radio;
  • coordinate organizations' profiles and event dates to publish in our annual Arts & Cultural Event Guide, distributed locally and statewide;

Nominations are now open for the 2019 Laurel Awards.  All members of the Cultural Council are encouraged to nominate a person or business you feel deserving of a Laurel Award.  Deadline for submitting nominations to the Cultural Council is March 29, 2019.  Your nominee must be in agreement of the nomination, available for the publicity photo prior to the event, and be in attendance at the Annual Laurel Award Presentation, May 8, 2019 at Riverside Theatre.  See the attached nomination forms and instructions and nominate a deserving member in our community.  For more information contact the Cultural Council, 772-770-4857.
