Summerfest is synonymous with internationally renowned musicians, concert pieces exquisitely performed, introduction of original compositions and highly acclaimed conductors.  The Cultural Council of Indian River County proudly sponsors the return of the Summerfest Chamber Orchestra.

Sunday, August 11, 3:00 PM at Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church, 3755 Highway A1A in Vero Beach, the Summerfest Chamber Orchestra of the Symphony of the Americas will return to Vero Beach with another wonderful Summerfest performance.

Designed to link the artistic and cultural traditions of the world with those of Florida, Summerfest, presented by the Symphony of the Americas, is the longest music festival event to take place in Florida and is one of the top cultural projects to be funded by the State of Florida’s Division of Cultural Affairs International Cultural Exchange Grant Programs.  As a true cultural exchange, it involves both European and American musicians in joint performance for Florida citizens, as well as the visiting orchestra’s home country and throughout the United States, Central and South America.  Summerfest 2018 marks the 27th anniversary of the Festival.

Under the direction of Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, Conductor, Summerfest Artistic Director, and Artistic Director of South Florida’s acclaimed Symphony of the Americas.  Applause highlighting his work with orchestras and festivals on five continents has marked Maestro an outstanding conductor of the United States.  He has been recognized by heads of state and dignitaries around the world.  President Ronald Reagan praised Maestro as an “Ambassador to Latin America for his exceptional musical talents and diplomatic skills.

20 musicians from 10 countries around the world will be performing an exciting program including the works of Bach, Mendelssohn, Vivaldi, Piazzolla and Ravel as well as pieces by Lorenzo Turchi-Floris, Summerfest Composer in Residence.

Music students from middle through high school are invited to attend the performance as guests of the Cultural Council.

Tickets, $35, are available at the Cultural Council Office, 2041 14th Avenue and on its website,
